Terracotta pottery/ sculpture is made by baking terracotta clay. The terracotta color is a natural brown- orange. Terracotta clay is easy to sculpt into all sorts of shapes. Once shaped, It's heated to 850-1,000 C to harden. The history of terracotta goes back to prehistoric times. The oldest terracotta creations found in Sri Lanka, India, Greece, Rome and Japan. Red clay can be identified as the oldest material used by man to create art works.
Here is a terracotta sculpture which I did in 2016. I built up it with red clay and heated to 1,000 C to harden.
I'm in love with natural clay look. It gives more value to the art work.
